Evening everyone,

It’s Kamala’s birthday tomorrow, and for anyone who doesn’t know who Kamala is then let me tell you…

She’s my longest standing member of staff, and she’s been with me right from the very beginning!!! I’ve known her since I was 12, and she’s one of my best friend’s (Meera’s) mum. She joined me when I was just setting up the company, and she’s grown with us and is now one of our company directors. Even though she’s a member of staff, and also my mate’s mum, she’s also one of my closest friends, which is why I thought straight away of this specific SWALK stamp…

There’s something about the sentiments on the SWALK stamps that just always seem to hit the right note!!! This one is the stamp called ‘Friendship‘ from the Sweet Stuff Range. And obviously I wanted to colour me looking like me, and Kamala looking just like Kam, and she’s got a darker skin-tones.

Now one of the things I struggled with when I was colouring both skin tones, was getting the shading right. And I found the perfect solution and so I just had to share it with you… A lovely lady called Christina has done some wonderful video tutorials teaching you exactly how to colour dark, and pale skin tones using our Spectrum Noir Pens

Here’s the tutorial for Dark skin (and you can find loads more information on her blog)

And then here is the light skin tutorial (again the full tutorial is on Christina’s blog)

Christina has done loads of video tutorials on her blog, and we’ve even been in touch with her to see if she is happy to get involved with our Spectrum Noir Blog! So watch this space for more from Christina!

So, I hope that’s been useful if anyone else has struggled with the same things that I have, and i’ll leave you now with a few pics of Kamala so you can see how well I did with my accurate colouring!!!

Kam with Leann at the Christmas Party last year…

And the day I was teaching her and my mum about beading…

Then there’s the time we all went go-karting (by we-all, I mean the staff from CC-HQ!) – Kam was taking it very seriously!!

And then Leann gave her a good de-brief along with the guys (in true ‘Leann-style’!)

Kam always loves being in the middle of everything!

And here she is with Lou-Lou and Paul on one of our staff nights out (before everyone got too drunk for pictures!!)

So I hope you can all join me in wishing her a verry happy birthday for tomorrow! I’ll not tell you how old she’s going to be because i’ll get into trouble, but lets just say she definitely doesn’t look her age!!! 🙂

Signing off for now! Sara xxx
