It’s Debbie Clough’s turn in the spotlight this week!

“I’m Debbie and I’m 43 years old. I have been living with my partner, Mark for 20 years and we have a beautiful daughter, Ashleigh aged 14.

I have loved crafting from a very early age with my Nana where would sit on an evening crocheting, knitting and sewing! For Xmas one year I received a Cross Stitch and a Tapestry and loved it so much especially back in the day when there wasn’t much else to distract you such as Sky TV, Computer Games and Facebook!

I have been Card Making now though for about 10 years and it was my partners mum, Bren that got me into it, she started going to a Craft Club a couple of times a week and then would teach me what she had learnt and the passion just grew from there.

I started out using Cds of which I have many and Bren and I were lucky enough to be on the Design Team for Chris Warner who sadly isn’t designing anymore back in 2007 to 2009.

My main love in the early days was Decoupage of which I still love to do but in 2011 I decided to give stamping a go, it was really when the Spectrum Noirs came out that gave me the boost to do it as they were so affordable and now I love it! I became a Spectrum Noir Accredited Colourist in September last year!

In October 2012 I was asked by the lovely Leann to join the Crafter’s Companion Design Team and I cannot tell you how thrilled I was as I literally own everything Crafter’s Companion and to be honest I still can’t believe it! In my eyes I am designing with the best!”

And here are a few of Debbie’s favourite projects she’s made for Crafter’s Companion:

Faerie Poppets – Baby Rosebud. I have used Core’dinations and Floral Frenzy Embossing Folder. Corners are from Die’sire Classical Frame together with backing papers from the CD. The die is from Sizzix called Fancy Labels 5. My sentiment was added using the Tags 1 Die’sire die and I used Memory Box, Fabulous Phlox to make the flowers. Coloured in with Spectrum Noir pens.

I love this card as Christine Haworth’s work is amazing and just totally fell in love with these fairies, especially this one!”

Mulberry Wood Stamp – Friend. I have used Core’dinations and embossing folder, Petite Dot. Backing paper from the Mulberry Wood CD. The die I have used is a Nestabilities called Eyelet Squares. I have added some ribbon, sentiment from the same stamp plate. Coloured in with Spectrum Noir pens.

I love this card because I adore this doggy and Mulberry Wood is one of my all time favourite CDs!”

SWALK Stamp – Blooming Wonderful. I used backing paper from the SWALK 2 CD and layered my image up onto a Die’sire Die Ornamental Oval Frame and added a few buttons, bit of ribbon and a rose! Coloured in with Spectrum Noir pens.

I love this card because SWALK Images are just fabulous to use and cover a whole range of occasions and I especially like this one because of her hair! Was very happy with the result!”

We always look forward to Debbie’s work, and are so pleased she is part of our team!
