Is there anything more bold and beautiful in nature than a peacock? Its colourful plumes and feathers are the perfect way of spreading some positivity, whether it's pride in yourself or those closest to you.

Follow along to the step-by-step instructions below to make your own handmade peacock shaker card, ideal for gifting for special occasions or just to remind someone how proud of them you are!

Here’s what you’ll need:

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Create a card base by cutting 12″ x 12″ white card into 8″ x 12″ and score at 6″ x 8″. Choose your Graceful Plumes paper of choice and mat and layer onto a piece of gold Centura Pearl card.
  2. Adhere your mat and layer sheet onto the front of the card base. Burnish your design onto the white card.
  3. Cut out a detailed peacock feather from white card with the Peacock Quill Create-a-Card die using your die cutting machine of choice. Remove the waste pieces of card using your fingers or a pokey tool. Repeat with a sheet of gold card.
  4. Using a tape pen, adhere the white die cut feather to the gold slightly unalligned to create a drop shadow effect. Attach to a sheet of acetate to complete the shaker element.
  5. Create a border of foam tape around the edge of the acetate sheet to create a raised front for your card. Add a layer of sequins to your card and affix the shaker front on top.
  6. Embellish your card with a sentiment stamp (we used Proud as a Peacock) and an additional peacock image that you can die cut and stamp using the Perfect Plumes metal die and Proud Peacock acrylic stamp from the collection to finish your gorgeous handmade card!
