Here’s what you’ll need

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Choose the colours you want to use for your bunting, we chose some lovely pastel tones in lilac, baby blue and sage green from our Majestic Unicorn card pack.
  2. Create a simple flag bunting template out of white card. This should be big enough to fit a letter on. We made the longest sides 6.5 inches and the top 4 inches. We then marked the bottom halfway (2 inches) and measured 1.5 inches up to create the triangle at the bottom. Cut this bit out.
  3. Make another template that is 6 inches x 3.5 inches. Mark the bottom middle at 1.75 inch and mark 1.25 inch up to create a triangle. Cut out.
  4. Trace 1 template onto your linen card and cut out. Trace template 2 onto your Majestic unicorn paper. We used a variety of flags with unicorns on or simple floral backgrounds. Repeat this step for however many flags you want to make, make sure to have one for each letter plus a few on the ends.
  5. Using the tape pen layer the paper flags onto the linen card, make sure to do this centrally so you have a nice border.
  6. Die cut your letters in both white and gold card.
  7. Use a tape pen or some tacky glue in a fine tip bottle, layer the gold letter over the white, leaving a slight shadow of white to the left-hand side.
  8. Stick these down on your bunting flags. One letter per flag.
  9. Use the hole punch to create a hole in each corner of the flag.
  10. Thread your ribbon through the holes (Top Tip – Wrap the end of your ribbon with a little low tack tape to make threading easier.)
