Here's what you'll need
- Felt
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
- Precision snips (not necessary but useful!)
- A couple of sheets of white card and a marker pen
Step-by-step instructions
- Choose the colours you want to use for your flag and the other elements such as the name and the other pieces.
- Make a triangle template in the size you would like your flag to be, trace around it, and cut it out of felt.
- Using that template, sketch out your name so you can check the size will fit, make sure to leave at least ½ inch at the start, cut out the template, trace it on your felt and cut it out. Precision snips may make this easier!
- Use the hot glue gun and glue the name down, remembering to leave the left-hand edge of the flag free.
- Using a different coloured felt, cut an inch wide strip long enough to fit the left-hand edge. Glue it down so ½ inch is hanging over the edge. Then fold it over and glue this excess down at the back. Trim the piece so it fits the flag.
- Using another colour, cut 4 ½ inch strips roughly 5 inches long on the back and glue these down in a “V” shape, one at the top, one at the bottom of the left hand edge of the flag.
